A few words about the difference between keepandbear.us and keepandbear.com. The keepandbear.us domain was registered and became active in July 2014.
Keepandbear.com had been a parked domain for several years. It went up for auction in 2014 after keepandbear.us was already up and running. The domain found a buyer and as of April 2015 has content. The post entries indicate the writer(s) have a traditional view of the Second Amendment. By that I mean it is an individual right that does not require regulation for law-abiding Citizens to use guns for self-defense in the home or for sporting uses.
Aside from a similar Old English font for the Keep and Bear header, there are no visual similarities between the .us and .com sites.
If you do a google search on keepandbear, www.keepandbear.us and keepandbear.com both show up along with the image of the Keep and Bear, LLC logo. All of the content of keepandbear.us is copyrighted by Keep And Bear, LLC. Keepandbear.us contains original content material, including text and images. Referenced material that is reviewed or used to develop content is cited.
The .US site has five distinct categories of content: Administrative, Educational, Training, Opinion, and Products.
The Educational content is intended to be factual and/or commonly accepted as good practices.
Training describes the NRA courses offered through Keep And Bear, LLC; the NRA Basic Pistol Course, the NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course, the NRA FIRST Steps course. It also describes some non-NRA exercises that are instructor led.
The Opinion category includes ownership, reviews, blog, and suggested. The opinions expressed in these sections are those of the authors.
The Reviews tab features gun reviews. Current reviews include: Beretta 92FS, Glock 22, Ruger SR 9, Smith & Wesson M&P 40C, Smith & Wesson M&P 9, Springfield Armory 1911 Mil-Spec. This section will continue to be built upon to include Rim Fire Pistols, Shotguns, and Rifles.
The Blog tab is a link to this WordPress site. Deadlines for weekly posts are Thursday but occasionally roll to Friday. The topics for most posts are national or central Florida news related to gun use or ownership.
Suggested resources are provided as guidance for new users to explore various aspects of gun ownership and use. This ranges from background information on why gun ownership by United States Citizens in good standing is considered a right that cannot be taken away by governmental bodies (even though some locations do), to considerations of the aftermath of a self-defense shooting.
Keepandbear.us also has links to the discounted NRA recruiter web site where you can purchase a yearly membership for $25 instead of the standard $35. Longer terms are also discounted. The two most tangible benefits of joining the NRA are the subscription to one of their magazines (American Rifleman, …) and an insurance policy for firearms. Your membership also adds to the number of people the NRA can represent in their educational, legislative, and judicial efforts.
Keepandbear.com has posts on a range of gun related topics and news items.
