Bass Pro Shops opened its Brandon Florida location this week and immediately began drawing enough customers to overflow the millions of dollars spent in road improvement by Hillsborough County to lure them to the county. I’m glad to see them come.

July 29, 2015: The Big Brush of Federal Agencies
In another maneuver aimed at putting a group of Citizens in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), the Social Security Administration is preparing to declare that anyone who receives their disability payments through a “representative payee” is deficient and should not be allowed to own guns. The potential group will number 4.2 million and they will be in the same system as felons, drug addicts, illegal immigrants, fugitives, dishonorably discharged service members, domestic abusers, and those judged mentally incompetent.
July 20, 2015: Burden of Proof
On July 9, 2015 the Florida Supreme Court decided (No. SC13-2312) the burden of proof is on the defendant at a pretrial hearing involving a motion for immunity when claiming “Stand Your Ground”. The legislation for the law doesn’t specify who has the burden of proof.
July 11, 2015: The Rule of Law
The rule of law is the legal principle that law should govern a nation, as opposed to being governed by arbitrary decisions of individual government officials.
